This slim volume is one of the most beautiful pieces of editing I have ever encountered. I go back to it to feel inspired by love revealed in two dimensions— Williams’ clear-eyed, insightful writing about his friend, the collage artist Ray Johnson, and Zuber’s evident care in sourcing, selecting, and arranging these texts, which are pulled from forty years of private emails, letters, published, and unpublished work.
