Terrific bookstore in Pittsburgh's Mexican War Streets neighborhood specializing in works in translation; my favorite feature is a wall organized by press + publisher, which illuminates their personalities in a way mere alphabetization could never. Afterward, the National Aviary is basically across the street, the shoppy shop Mayfly Market is next door for loading up on Gilligan's seasonal sorbets, Badamo's is right around the corner for an excellent slice, and you can walk through the neighborhood to see Randyland (a home encrusted with artfully assembled found objects) and along Sampsonia Way to see the Poet Houses City of Asylum rehabbed to honor exiled writers.
