London Review Bookshop: London

Marvelous compact shop packed with a well-chosen, wide-ranging selection of books. The first time I went, the legendary cake shop was still open (oh, that carrot cake) but now they have a cafe by St. John. On my last visit, I came away with a history of children's literature and a novel about rare snails. The meticulously curated stationery shop, Present and Correct, is next door, and the Swedenborg House (always worth stopping in) is around the corner.
