Ithell Colquhoun: Taro as Colour

In the late 1970s, the mystically minded artist Ithell Colquhoun created her own taro deck, abandoning the figurative depictions of traditional decks and "[re-imagining] the forces behind each card as pure colour." Originally, only 100 decks were made and it was virtually unobtainable until 2017, when Fulgur Press issued a new edition. (Fulgur specializes in "esotericism and magic in visual culture.")
